DINNER SILHOUETTE: The Tea

The Tea Cup

The Tea Cup is old and traditional, spanning several cultures across the world. It has a wide selection of styles and brews to carry in its cavity; warm and still like taking a deep, deep breath. There is a tea for every flavor profile, be it strong and moody or light and sweet. The Tea Cup is particular, pensive and patient; where hot water and time are two key elements to its taste, besides the customization of the tea with milk, honey, sugar, cream and more.

The gentle steam swirling above the curved delicate rim dances with poise, the handle tucked under your finger as you raise it to your lips for a slow, calming sip. The time for tea suits the company of the quiet and thoughtful, and the Tea Cup feels most comfortable paired in settings that complement its size with small tea tables, tea cakes and sandwiches.

Such canapés would consist of mini salmon croquettes dolloped with citrus aïoli, small berry tarts garnished with mint, and of course, a few scones with jam and cream.
