Holiday Cheers

The holiday season is right around the corner. Here at Amazing Edibles Catering, we know how stressful putting together that special holiday party can be. Just in case you could use a little help, here are some of our favorite and most festive holiday cocktails we could find.      Hopefully, you can wow your guests at your next get together with some of these simple and tasty drinks! 

 

Mulled Wine Sangria

Ingredients 

(Serves 6-8)

  • ½ c. packed light-brown sugar

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 strip orange peel

  • 2 green apples

  • 1 bottle red wine

  • 2 c. cranberry juice

  • 1 c. fresh or frozen cranberries

  • ½ c. orange-flavored liqueur

 

-Put the wine, cranberry juice, cranberries, orange liqueur, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, and orange peel in a large saucepan.

-Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, stirring, 5 minutes or until the sugar dissolves.

-Remove from the heat; set aside 15 minutes.

-Stir the apples into the mulled wine.

-Serve immediately or refrigerate and serve chilled.


Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate Recipe

Ingredients 

(serves 3-4)

  • 1/3 cup Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice Liqueur

  • 4 cups whole milk divided

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree

  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

  • Optional toppings: whipped cream

 

-Measure 1/3 cup of Kahlúa and set aside.

-In a medium saucepan, whisk together 1 cup of milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Whisk in remaining milk until fully combined. Heat mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved and very hot, but not boiling.

-Whisk in pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. Continue to whisk and heat the mixture. Turn off and move from heat just before mixture begins to boil (do not let it boil). Immediately whisk in Kahlúa. Pour into glasses and top with optional toppings, if desired. Serve.


Santa's Sleigh Cocktail

Ingredients 

(Serves 4)

  • White sugar crystals, preferably coarse

  • 2 cups store-bought eggnog, chilled

  • 1/2 cup brandy

  • 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur

  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream

  • 4 cinnamon sticks

 

-Dampen the rims of 4 martini glasses and then line the rims with sugar crystals.

-Combine eggnog, brandy, amaretto, nutmeg, and ice cream in a blender; process until smooth.

-Pour mixture into martini glasses and garnish each glass with a whole cinnamon stick


Spiced Cider

                 Ingredients 

(serves 12)

  • 16 cups (1 gallon) apple cider

  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar 

  • 1 teaspoon allspice 

  • Pinch grated nutmeg 

  • 2 teaspoons whole cloves 

  • 1 orange 

  • 2 cups bourbon, optional

 

-In large pot over medium heat, add apple cider. Stir in brown sugar, allspice and nutmeg until the sugar is dissolved & bring to low boil.

-Stick the pointy ends of the cloves into the orange so that just the buds of the cloves are visible. 

- Add orange to the cider and reduce the heat to simmer. Cover & cook for 20 mins.

-Serve in warm mugs with a cinnamon stick garnish. For adults, add bourbon to the cider.


Cranberry Mimosas

Ingredients 

(serves 4)

  • 1 lime, halved

  • 2 tbsp. sugar

  • 1 c. sweetened cranberry juice

  • 1 bottle champagne

  • 12 fresh cranberries

  • 4 small sprigs fresh rosemary

 

-Rub rims of champagne flutes with lime and dip in sugar.

-Pour 1/4 cup cranberry juice into each glass and top with champagne.

-Use a toothpick to poke a hole through cranberries. Thread rosemary skewer through cranberries and garnish mimosas.
