Amazing Edibles is joining together with Catalyst Ranch to arrange a fundraiser celebrating female founders and the contributions given by women to the field of innovation. It is called the 1st Woman Fundraiser: A Film Screening and Tasting to celebrate Innovation. It will be held during the evening of Wednesday, May 15th, and all the proceeds from this event will go to the Purple Asparagus in educating the children of Chicago about the importance of eating healthy.

The event will start off with a networking reception where the guests will be served with small bites, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages prepared by none other than Amazing Edibles! Next, the guests will be shown a movie called “Fear No Fruit” which is based on the first woman, Frieda Caplan, who brought the New Zealand Kiwifruit as well as other foods into the United States of America. What an AMAZING way to celebrate women and all their achievements! Frieda’s, the company, is also donating the fruit and vegetables used by Amazing Edibles to create an AMAZING menu for this event.

Since spring is finally here in Chicago, we will be using Frieda’s special recipes to create the perfect menu for this fundraiser. Two of my personal favorites are the Passionfruit Mojito and the Moroccan Rainbow Carrot Salad. The mojito provides the freshness needed during this warm weather, whereas the salad represents the vibrant colors of spring. For the delicious recipes, click here.
